Part 2

Terms of Service

Use of This Website

By using this website, purchasing a course, or enrolling in lessons, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.

Digital Courses

Purchases of the Vibrato Mini Course, The Confident Performer Method, and other digital products grant you a personal, non-transferable license to access the content for your own education. Course content may not be shared, resold, redistributed, or reproduced. Classroom access plans for teachers permit shared access under one login for that teacher's own students only.

Payments & Refunds

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, all payments — including course purchases, coaching fees, and tuition — are non-refundable.

No Guarantee of Results

Voice and acting training outcomes depend on many factors, including individual practice and effort. While the Studio's track record speaks for itself, no specific result — including university admission, competition placement, or professional booking — is promised or guaranteed.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website and in our courses — including videos, curriculum, written materials, and branding — is the property of Megan Gillespie's Studio and is protected by copyright. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Megan Gillespie's Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website or our services. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in question.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these policies from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site or services after changes constitutes acceptance.

Part 3

Studio Policies (Enrolled Lesson Students)

The following applies to students enrolled in ongoing lessons with Megan Gillespie's Studio. By enrolling and paying tuition, you certify that you understand and agree to these policies.

My Responsibilities

I will teach students the language of music in a positive and enthusiastic environment. It is my goal to empower each student to influence their music education with input based on their interest and long-term goals. I will tailor the curriculum to match each student's specific learning needs.

Student & Family Responsibilities

Students agree to arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with their assignment books, music, and water. A piano will be provided in the studio for piano lessons. To make good progress, daily quality practice is necessary. Please ask questions about home assignments so that the student and parents can completely understand the assignments and goals.

If something is happening at home or school that is affecting the student, please let me know. The more information I have, the more I can be sensitive to the needs of my students.

All students are encouraged to perform at the studio recitals and take auditions for jobs, gigs, and competitions. If an opportunity arises, please bring information to the next lesson so that I can help the student prepare.

Students must have their own instrument to practice at home. If you have questions or would like input on the purchase of an instrument, please let me know. I am happy to set appointments to meet the student and their family for instrument trials and make specific recommendations.

Tuition and Schedule

Please note that tuition reserves the weekly time slot, but may not directly correlate with lessons received if the student does not attend the scheduled lesson times.

Flat monthly tuition rates are based on the number of guaranteed lessons in the calendar year. There will be a minimum of 36 lessons offered throughout the year, and the weeks where lessons are not held (due to holidays or personal performance opportunities) will be communicated in advance.

Tuition invoices will be sent the 30th of the month prior for all enrolled students. All payments are non-refundable. After the first payment, invoicing and payment will run automatically. Tuition will be drawn on the 30th each month from the method on file for the next month. All automatic payments will be run through Stripe.

In the event that a payment is returned or declined, a 48-hour window will be provided to adjust the payment method and resubmit payment. Any payments not received by the 3rd of the month will receive a $20 late fee. Recurring late payments may result in termination of the student's enrollment.

Cancellation Policy

  • Group lessons are not eligible for makeup lessons.
  • Individual lessons cancelled at least 24 hours ahead of the lesson will receive a makeup lesson credit. If notice is given less than 24 hours in advance, no makeup credit is provided.
  • All makeup lessons will be in the form of a studio class, scheduled at the end of each month, via Zoom. This date will be on the calendar in My Music Staff. One makeup lesson per student will be approved and accommodated per month.
  • Makeup lessons do not count as credit for the next month's tuition.
  • Lessons cancelled by the Studio will be given as much notice as possible and will be rescheduled within 30 days.
  • Flat monthly tuition rates will not be altered or prorated for any reason.
  • Planned vacations or other conflicts communicated in advance receive the studio class credit for that month.

Music & Materials

Each student is responsible for purchasing the required music and materials for lessons. Materials will be assigned by the Studio and the student will be expected to have the materials no later than two weeks after the materials have been assigned. Advanced notice will be provided whenever possible.

Commitment

When students enroll, they are reserving their place in the studio for the entire term. Changes to weekly schedules may be made on a case-by-case basis each month before tuition is due.

If the student decides to pause lessons during the course of a semester, tuition for the remainder of the semester still applies. Alterations to this policy are on a case-by-case basis.

  • Spring Term — January through April
  • Summer Term — May through August
  • Fall Term — September through December

Please note that a student's spot will not be guaranteed for the fall term if they were not enrolled in lessons during the summer term.

Photo and Video Release

From time to time the Studio uses photos and short videos of students around the studio, on the studio website, or in social media posts. These videos and posts are encouraging to other students and helpful to other teachers. If you do not want your child's image(s) to be used, please let us know. Students are identified only by first name.
